Here is my entry this year. I played with collage, and painting as well as some digital manipulation. It was so much fun and so freeing to do.

Hi again

So I'm just going to gloss over how long it's been since I've posted to my blog. (You can figure that out easily) Needless to say it's been too long and I won't even bother with excuses. I'm back, I'm sketching let's move on.

2013 Tomie dePaola Award Entry

I've been up late nights for the past week squeaking this little sucker out.  This is just a snippet. I tried a new technique. Also, I've been drawing, just not blogging. Sorry. I need to get better about that, and it should be a New Year's resolution, but maybe so should be easier on myself.

So I cannot believe I haven't blogged since April...okay, I can believe it. I've been a busy woman. I've decided that I am going to start SkADaMo a bit late, but I need to keep the drawing fingers warm!

Gargoyles and inspiration

This guy has 'moobs'.

I've been spending my days in the one of the most beautiful buildings in Asheville. Everyday that I walk to work, climb those stairs and encounter a new gargoyle on the way to the bathroom, I feel like a new student at Hogwarts. The stairs are just as confusing even though they don't move, but there is a bakery downstairs that congers up some awesome chocolate chip cookies smells at certain times of the day...that is magic!

Lunch time is spent on benches sketching while watching tourists comment on the beauty, and I feel so lucky.

Illustration Friday-Intention

I recently followed the art director's suggestions from the SCBWI-Carolinas conference and spruced up this piece a bit. I had INTENDED to do it a long time ago, and am just now getting to it. So I had GOOD INTENTIONS, and so does that sweet bear loving narwhal.
